SFC- Holidays

Our challenge for this week is to make something with the theme HOLIDAYS. So I designed  a scrapbook page using a photo of myself and my daughter taking on a holiday in the UK...yes, its raining!! Typical!

The colours in the papers match perfectly with our Pac-a-macs! The flowers are stamped from a Stampin Up set, as is the Hooray and the bunting plus a bit of background stamping. I've also stamped around the edge of the page to frame it.

House of Cards Design Team!

I'm thrilled to have been selected to be part of House of Card Design Team! This is following their recent blog hop and DT call. I'm part of the Classic Team.

So here goes my first challenge as a DT member for House of Cards! The challenge this month is to "Add a Bow".

I couldn't wait to use a new paper pad from Bo Bunny. So pretty. I matted/layered paper and card onto the base card, punched the paper flowers from some text paper and scrunched them up to make a flower. The "Hello" is die cut using a Die-Versions die. Its very unsual for me to make a card with no stamping or ink!

Oops.....it looks more shabby than classic though...maybe I should rip off that lace!

Stamp+Fun=Creativity - Sketch

This week we have a sketch as the theme on Stamps + Fun = Creativity.

I don't often make square format cards so a nice change

I used paper from BoBunny Vintage Lace stack that I've just bought plus Stampin Up's card stock and Stippled Blossoms stamp set. Its a two-step stamp set and I love it at the moment! Quite a few cards made with this set so far!

I've layered/matted the papers for the card front. Then stamped and hand cut the flower and leaves. A couple of flourishes die cut for the corners of the card and a couple of small buttons.

Hope you like it and feel inspired this week to join in!

Bo Bunny July Scrap Club

Next week my lovely ladies will be working with Bo Bunny C'est La Vie papers. This is one layout I've made:-

  1. Ink the edges of the cream card stock
  2. Trim a centimetre from the patterned paper. Ink edges. Distress by crumpling the whole sheet up (Go  on...do it!) Rough up the edges with a distress tool.Tear a bits around the edge and fold back. (top left)
  3. Tear a section from the pink sheet. Crumple and distress the edges
  4. Spray and splat with mist
  5. Adhere a strip of the pearly trim across the bottom of your photo extending out to both sides
  6. Fussy cut the cream flower/green leaves motif from one of the papers. Ink edges. Place to the bottom right of the photo
  7. Cut the tags/pennants, ink and place on either side of the photo as show
  8. Embellish with flowers, buttons, bakers twine and pearlex pen as you like
  9. Cut the large label from the papers (bottom right) Ink edges
  10. Cut the dress form from scrap cardstock. Ink edges. Adhere and embellish with flowers
  11. The Live, Laugh, Love words are from a previous kits pack of die cut embellishments so bring those along!

52CCT Christmas in July Blog Hop!

Many thanks to the girls at 52CCT for giving me an honorable mention for this card here:-

Now onto the fun blog hop for the month of July over at 52 Christmas Card Throwdown with some prizes to be had too! Go take a look......

Now there are not one but four cards to make! I decided to make my four card all at once, using the same base colour cardstock of Lucky Limeade from Stampin Up.

First up the recipe challenge:-

Using ink is your friend to give a card a vintage feel.....and vintage buttons!

 Second is the sketch challenge:-

A Technique Tuesday stamp set - Be Jolly

Third we have a use stickers challenge:-
I loathe stickers. It just seems a cop out to slap a sticker and hey presto, job done. Anyway, a very simple card using a set of stickers retrieved from my box of stash destined for the charity shop!

My fourth card using the recipe challenge:-

I do like the pinks in this card. Four shades in total but hopefully 52CCT wont notice that I have forgotten to use grey! That comes from doing all four card in the one session! Oops!

SFC - Summer!

The theme this week over at Stamps+Fun = Creativity is "Summer". I love strawberries and what better to portray summer than juicy red berries! I decided to use a stamp set from Papertrey Ink called "Fruit Fusion- Berry". It comes with a matching die. I combined it with stamp sets from Stampin Up called Gorgeous Grunge, idea for creating a background and also Clearly Besotted Diagonal Stripes. Colours are SU Real Red and Wild Wasabi.

A fun, fresh summery card!

I hope you join in with the challenge this week!

Scrapbooking again!

Lovely sunny weather at the moment so I've been reminded of a weeks activity holiday we went on last year. A real active week testing all our strengths both physical and mental. Great fun.

I've used lots of various scraps of patterned paper. A doily, chipboard "tree"and various other elements that I found in my stash from previous layouts. I love that a layout can me made from remnants of kits etc
