Scrapbook Page

I was away last weekend with the girls scrapbooking. For the first time ever I didn't scrapbook at all but concentrated on getting up to date with my Project Life album which is 2013 to 2014. I was so far behind and it was starting to get to me!

Anyway...I HAVE to do at least one scrapbook page for my ladies who come to scrap club, which is next week so here is my page using this months kit! Phew.....

A photo that my daughter took with her Iphone. I'm not a lover of selfies.....I always gain more chins than I actually have.

Cream cardstock. K & Co paper although I don't know what collection its from. Colours are cream, pink, blue, green (very pretty and pastel'ish)so bring along your embellishments to match. the kits has several sheet of double sided paper, a handful of tags, some polaroid frames (really like these) and a packet of metal effect "studs". I added a big big button from my stash, sequins and the pearly brads. The turquoise braid is from last months kit.

My card uses a digital image from Stitchy Bear....its called Circle of Bells and the designer is Floppy Latte designs. Now this really was a challenge for me as I don't do digital, always prefer to stamp myself so I was pleasantly surprised how easy it was to simply download the image, open up in photoshop and resize to exactly the dimensions I wanted to fit a particular circle die of mine. You don't get that flexibility to resize a stamp do you! Also no stamp to clean! I could get used to this. I just printed on good quality white card and left overnight before colouring in with copic markers to make sure the ink didn't bleed. (I could of heat set otherwise) Again, I rarely use my copic markers so don't look to closely at my shoddy colouring! The bows and bells in the image are also topped with Wink of Stella glitter pens but sadly don't show up in the photo, it really is sparkly. Little circles punched from glitter card stock for the bells "dongs"(!)  Then matted and layered onto Pool Party, Soft Suede cardstock by Stampin Up and a doily. Finished off with a white satin ribbon bow, silver bow and a satin flower then I couldn't stop myself and added some dew drops in the corners to emanate the champagne glasses in the inspiration picture.

One more thing, Stitchy Bear have a Facebook group with a monthly challenge. Anyone can join in as long as they use one of their digital images. Check it out here. You may just find me entering as I did enjoy using their digital image. A first but not the last!

Now get to hoppin'!  Your next stop is Tammy's blog!  Don't forget to link up a project with us after completing the hop for an extra chance to win a mystery prize from one of our fabulous sponsors, too!

52CCT November Colour Challenge

I'm earlier this week than usual...if I leave it too late then I am too late for the deadline. A quick card today as I have wedding photos to process!

Heres the 52CCT challenge:

A rustic feel to this card, Natural Ivory card from Stampin Up Mossy Meadow and Real Red ink and using SU "Snow Swirled" stamp set. Plus Gold embossed snowflakes using a glittery gold embossing powder. (shame you cant see that sparkle!) Sentiment is from a set by Penny Black "Christmas Cheer" and Ive used Deco Labels die for the mat. Finished off with a bow ans some sequins.

Wedding

I was a photographer at a local wedding yesterday and made the couple a card. The bridesmaid dresses were a dark red so I chose Cherry Cobbler for my cardstock with black and gold. Hope the bride liked it! Dry embossed, spritzed with gold spray and a big flower using a scallop circle punch. A lovely day shooting pictures of the bride getting ready, the ceremony and the reception afterwards.

House of Cards November Challenge

This month the Design team have been challenged to make cards using a sketch. Check out our challenge here. Also, Mynn has done a great video tutorial on Faux Quilting so go take a look if you'd like to find our how to do it!

The patterned papers are from a small pad by First Edition a mix of aqua, yellow and pinks, some papers are embossed and have a gloss finish or sparkly. Lovely! I teamed them up with Brown Sugar card stock from Stampin up.

The large flower is die cut using a Heartfelt die, Vintage Floret which is one of my favourites. A few punched small flowers, a gold bow to finish. Thanks for looking and I hope you're inspired to join in with this challenge!

52CCT

I think I've now caught up!

October 11th  challenge was to make a card using these colours :-

The card I made was very quick and simple (A one layer card) as short of time...

The week before that was a sketch. Sorry ladies but the sketch doesn't do it for me so I've made a card and will bin it as its horrid!

Then the last week of September stash challenge was to use Diamonds & Pearls. I use d diamonds only.

 Then onto this weeks challenge:-
A card which went completely wrong! I went with it anyway....a stamping disaster and rescued in a way I'm not happy with so another card for the bin no doubt!

SFC 27th October

The challenge for us this week is to create anything but a card. So here's a scrapbook page! I cant remember exactly how old my daughter is in this old photo and as I'm a bit OCD about being correct I'm going to journal later!

I thought she looked really cute in this hat. This was a time when everything just HAD to be pink! Looking at the page now I might just add some flowers to the chipboard scrolls later.

Wedding and New Baby Cards

I love weddings and who doesn't like making a baby card! Its been so nice to make a couple of cards other than birthday cards!

First up a card for Philip and Jeanette (only on special cards do I get my sewing machine out)

And then for someone at my hubs office who's just had a baby girl. How cute is this!

52 CCT

Ooh dear...I've let 52CCT slip so lots of catching up to do! I did make this "Nordic" themed card in the week of the challenge and didn't realise until too late that I hadn't uploaded it! silly me. Anyway, here it is!

This week its to make a one layer card. Always tricky a one layer only. I dug out my JOFY stamp set and stamped a plain white card stock base with the headless snowman. Coloured in with a Wink of Stella silver pen although the glitter doesn't show in the photo, plus red & blue marker pens (& orange for his nose)

Now I've only got 3 weeks to catch up on!

Look at me with my handbag and cardi!

Just need to add some journalling

Using up the remaining "bits"

October House of Cards

This month our challenge on House of Cards is to make a card using dies and punches. Well that's easy for me cos I have loads! Rather than pile them onto my card I decided "less is more" although I did use quite a few!

Crumbcake cardstock as my base card. I stamped a few circles on the front using W&W stamp set Big Bang Confetti and inked the edges. The sentiment is from Stampin Up's Just Sayin set. Then I pucnhed and die cut to create a layered look & finished off with a bow and some buttons.

Dies:- Stampin Up Deco Labels, Word Bubbles Framelits
Punches:- 1 3/8, 1 and 3/4 inch circles punches

Stamps + Fun = Creativity

This weeks challenge is "For a Man or Boy" so I made a scrapbook page of my son. Lots of cirlces cut from patterned paper I think from a Studio Calico kit but I cant be sure! Clean and simple (also quick!) page.......

Stamps+Fun=Creativity

This weeks challenge is to create something using the following sketch.

So rather than a card I decided to do a scrapbook page. This a a re-scrap of an old layout that I was never happy with so I ripped it to bits and started again! The paper range is Tilda. Inked using Ranger Victorian Velvent ink. All elements cut from the patterned paper stack. The ribbon is also from the same range by Tilda. A few buttons and hidden journalling.

Stamps + Fun = Creativity Challenge 22/9/14

This weeks challenge at SFC is to create your own background.

I decided to make a scrapbook page using papers from "Nirvana" collection by Marion Smith. I trimmed down the sheet of patterned paper, mounted onto card stock then set to work adding to the background.

  • I used a bronze shimmer spray and Tim Holtz mask for the clock face top right and bottom left hand sides of the page
  • Then when dry, cream paint brushed across the centre of the page from top to bottom.
  • Sprinkled gilding flakes onto the painted areas while still wet so they stuck!
  • Sprayed a gold glimmer mist over the page
I then added the photo and fussy cut out various elements from another sheet of the paper. A few buttons and its done!

52 Christmas Card Throwdown

This weeks challenge at 52CCT is a colour one.

I have been really short of time lately so only a super quick card from me this week. I decided to use my Technique Tuesday "Be Jolly" stamp set and colours Rose red, White and Silver glimmer paper. I finished the card of with stretchy silver thread.

Scrapbook kit - September

I've made a page using papers from the Nirvana collection by Marion Smith. (Look for next weeks post for another layout made for the SFC DT).

  1. I trimmed the paper to mount onto card stock. Inked and distressed the edges.
  2. Then I used a Tim Holtz stencil and ink for the clock flaces
  3. I brushed cream paint left to right, top to bottom
  4. I cut out various elements from the other papers: Journalling card, balloon, clocks etc and layered with the photogtraph
  5. The hessian flower was die cut using the Tattered Florals die. Brush with PVA glue and curled. Left to dry then used hot glue to stick them together. Then I added some gold stickles on the egdes. A button in the centre.
  6. The twine for the buttons was from the hessian
  7. Added the ribbon and some handwritten journalling
